At the time Jeremiah Oliver, 5, went missing in 2013, Alberto L. Sierra Jr., then 22, was in a relationship with the child’s mother, Elsa Oliver. Reportedly, Jeremiah was living with Elsa in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. However, when Jeremiah’s then 8-year-old sister reported to school counselors about being abused by Sierra Jr., authorities took her and their other brother into custody in December 2013.According to Williams, it was only then that family members realized it was in September when they have last seen Jeremiah. By April 2014, investigators unfortunately found Jeremiah’s remains in Interstate 190 in Sterling, around 50 miles west of Boston. Reports say the child was wrapped in a blanket and stuffed inside a bag.

An article in ABC News states that the chief medical examiner’s office in Boston had ruled Jeremiah’s death as homicide. According to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, on May 18, Sierra Jr. was indicted by a grand jury on charges of disinterring of a body and murder.
In addition, on May 18, the murder suspect was reportedly arraigned on new charges. However, Sierra Jr. apparently pleaded not guilty on both charges and is held with no bail.
