Hit and Run Suspect At Large Six Months After Killing 12-Year-Old Girl in North Carolina

The hit and run suspect who killed a 12-year-old girl in North Carolina is still at large six months after the incident. However, authorities are renewing efforts as they administer an information checkpoint to help in their investigation.

Reports say it has been six months since Samantha Briggs, 12, was killed in a hit-and-run incident a block away from I-40, on Hillsborough Street near Bashford Road in Raleigh, North Carolina. On May 12, Briggs’ sister, Dekisha Holmes visited the location where her sister was killed by a hit and run suspect.

According to Price, the Raleigh Police Department had already renewed its efforts in solving the case. Authorities reportedly administered an information checkpoint hoping individuals who travel the road may recall anything that may help their search for the hit and run suspect.

Furthermore, Lieutenant Jason Borneo of the Raleigh Police states that information has been limited despite investigators working hard to piece what they gathered to date. Authorities have also gone to the streets, stopping a few hundred vehicles to distribute flyers and ask drivers for help to locate the hit and run suspect.

Hit and Run Suspect Still At Large

According to Grubb, to date, authorities are still searching for the hit and run suspect who owned a white Honda Civic EX 2006 model possibly with damages on the front end. Reports say a day after her 12th birthday, Briggs was on her way with her cousins to their aunt’s house from Sheetz gas station when she was hit by the vehicle.

Unfortunately, despite technology, vehicle description, and tips, the authorities are at a loss. Reportedly, anyone with tips that can help solve the case will be rewarded with $5,000.
