The day after, Nellis’ remains were discovered along a bike trail around the area of Clarion University Venango Campus. An autopsy conducted in Erie County revealed that Nellis was sexually assaulted and the cause of her death was asphyxiation due to manual strangulation.According to Eberhart, from the evidence collected at the crime scene which included a rape kit and shoe impressions, David Allen Bosley, 59, became an immediate person of interest.
