Charges Faced During Trump Indictment
An article on Politico states that the charges faced by the former U.S. President during the Trump indictment are in connection with the 2016 alleged hush money payment scheme. Reports say the Manhattan DA’s Office has already been investigating Trump for five years.
If the charges mentioned in the Trump indictment are indeed in connection with the 2016 scandal, prosecutors are expected to claim that the $150,000 worth of payments made to ex-Playboy model Karen McDougal and the $130,000 received by adult film actress Stormy Daniels were unethical. Reportedly, these payments were donated to the Trump campaign which helped the former U.S. President’s candidacy during the 2016 elections.
