Life Sentence for Arkansas Man Jacovan Bush in 2018 Murder of Devon Howard in Little Rock Apartment

Jacovan Bush has been given a life sentence plus forty years with no chance of parole for the murder of Devon Howard in 2018. According to reports, the suspect knocked on the door of Howard’s apartment and forced their way in, demanding money and ultimately firing a shot that killed Howard. Bush was one of two suspects with warrants for capital murder and aggravated robbery. He fled to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, after the incident but was found and arrested by U.S. Marshals in January 2020. Bush has been held in Linn County Jail in Iowa since then, awaiting extradition back to Arkansas.

 

The murder of Devon Howard was a tragic event that shook the community In which it took place. Howard was only 23 years old at the time of his death, and the senseless violence that took his life was devastating for his family and friends. Bush’s arrest and subsequent sentencing have brought some measure of closure to those affected by this crime, but the pain of Howard’s loss will never fully go away.
