British singer Adele has announced an extension to her Las Vegas residency, “Weekends with Adele,” for 34 new weeks at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. On Saturday, she revealed to her fans that the initial 24-show residency, which was postponed in January 2022 just 24 hours before the scheduled performance, has now been extended. Adele had canceled the residency at that time because she felt disconnected from the entire event, including her band, the overall design, the setup of the show, and so on.
Adele told her audience that she was coming back because playing to 4,000 people for 34 nights was not enough. She plans to film her live show and release it so that anyone who wants to see it can do so. She will return for a few weeks in June and then come back from the summer until the end of the fall. The new season will begin on June 16 and go through November 4.
To ensure that fans get to see her show, Adele is using “Verified Fan” through ticket retailer Ticketmaster. The Verified Fan program involves registration in order to screen out customers intending to resell tickets, ensuring that more tickets go to fans who intend to keep them and attend the concert.
While many fans were ecstatic to learn about the additional shows and future film, some were critical of Adele’s decision to remain in the United States. Some fans expressed their desire for a national tour as they could not afford to fly to Las Vegas.
