An 80-year-old Tennessee man has been charged with his wife’s murder after she was discovered dead in their garage on Thursday.
According to the Murfreesboro Police Department, Phokam Saysourinho, 68, is accused of stabbing his wife, Thatsaphone Saysourinho, at their home in the 4700 block of Swanson Drive in West Murfreesboro.
Officers responded to a call about a unidentified problem at the home around 4 pm.
When officers approached the garage, they found Thatsaphone Saysourinho suffering from stab wounds and trauma to the body. She was pronounced dead at the home.

When officers arrived at the house, Phokam Saysourinho had already escaped. He was later arrested during a traffic stop on Gateway Boulevard, according to an article published by Fox News on March 19, 2023.
Neighbors told FOX17 Nashville that the alleged murder in their quiet neighborhood has left them mystified and confused.
“It was the furthest thing from our minds. There were no signs to make anyone on the outside believe anything like that would ever happen,” according to Tyler Dunn, who lived next door to the Saysourinhos for two years.
Phokam Saysourinho was charged with first-degree murder in his wife’s death.
