Newsbreak: Former Maryland Mayor Arrested for Child Pornography was a Frequent Donor to Senator Tammy Baldwin’s Campaign

Former Mayor of College Park, Maryland, Patrick Wojahn, who was recently arrested on charges of possessing and distributing child pornography, was found to have been a frequent donor to Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin. The information was revealed through filings with the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

Wojahn, a Democrat, was arrested by the Prince George’s County Police on Thursday and charged with 40 counts of possessing child exploitative material and 16 counts of distributing the same material. He submitted a letter of resignation the previous night, expressing his willingness to cooperate with law enforcement and not wanting his investigation to distract from the government’s priorities.

Wojahn donated $100 to Baldwin’s campaign every month from February to October 2012 during her first run for the Senate, according to the FEC filings as reported by Fox News on March 3, 2023.  Baldwin went on to win the election and was re-elected in 2018. She is up for re-election again in 2024 and is expected to face a challenging race in the swing state as Republicans seek to regain control of the Senate.

The news of Wojahn’s donations to Baldwin’s campaign comes as a shock to the public, and it is not yet clear if the senator will return the money donated by Wojahn. Baldwin’s office has not yet issued a statement regarding the matter.
