Newsbreak: Last Call for New Jersey Residents to Claim up to $1,500 Tax Rebate in State’s COVID-19 Relief Program

New Jersey is offering a tax rebate to eligible renters and homeowners as part of the Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters program (ANCHOR). According to a report by MARCA on February 17, 2023, the rebate ranges from $450 to $1,500 and will be sent through direct deposit in the spring. However, approximately 500,000 eligible residents of the state have yet to apply, and the deadline for applications is February 28. Authorities are urging everyone with eligibility to submit their applications before the deadline.

Over 1.5 million applications have already been submitted, according to Melinda Caliendo, a spokeswoman for the New Jersey Monitor. Homeowners with an income below $150,000 will receive the maximum rebate of $1,500, while those with an income between $150,000 and $250,000 will receive $1,000. Renters with an income of less than $150,000 will receive a rebate of $450, as reported by MARCA.

The ANCHOR program aims to provide financial assistance to New Jersey citizens who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This tax rebate is part of the state’s efforts to help residents deal with the economic impact of the pandemic. While the rebate may not cover all expenses, it can help provide some relief to those who are struggling financially.

As the deadline for applications approaches, authorities are urging eligible residents to take advantage of this opportunity and apply for the ANCHOR program. Applying is easy and can be done online. Those who successfully submit their applications before the deadline can expect to receive their rebate in the spring.
