The Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) is a program in Alaska that will issue a new batch of dividend checks next week. The PFD program’s funds are a part of the profits collected from oil revenues every year. The state requires its residents to submit an application to receive the dividend checks every year. The applications from last year have already ended, but applications will open again this coming March 31.According to an article on the U.S. News, the residents of Alaska have been receiving the dividend checks worth $3,284 since September 2022. The dividend checks last year were actually issued earlier because dividend checks are generally issued in early to mid-October. The amount in the dividend checks last year has also increased compared to the standard amount. The increase is due to the added $662 worth of energy relief payment. In the state of Alaska, the energy relief is added to the dividends payout unlike in other states that separate the energy relief and the dividends.
