In 2017, Anthony Flores, 46, and Anna Moore, 39, met an ophthalmologist who was also a successful investor. Unfortunately, the doctor was suffering from a mental illness that slowly makes him incapable to take care of himself. Only within days of meeting the doctor, the couple has already moved into his beachfront house in Malibu for free. The couple then pretended to befriend and take care of the doctor and gradually took control of his life.

According to an article in the Fox News, Flores had made the doctor sign a Power of Attorney and opened the bank accounts in the doctor’s name. The couple then transferred the doctor’s money into their own bank accounts for months. In addition, the couple also gave the doctor drugs like marijuana and LSD and kept him away from his family and friends. Flores also allegedly changed the security settings of the doctor’s online brokerage account and transferred $2 million to his own bank account.

Fortunately, by then, the doctor had already decided to throw the couple out of his home. However, the couple had already installed cameras in the beach house which allowed them to monitor the doctor’s deteriorating condition. When the doctor died in May 2018, the couple immediately moved back into his beach house. The couple then started withdrawing large amounts of money and attempted to steal another $20 million from the doctor’s bank accounts.
