Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will be distributed to South Carolina residents on the normal monthly schedule in January, with payments separated into two batches based on when benefits were first received, according to a report by finance.yahoo.com released on December 30, 2022.
SNAP recipients in South Carolina can use their EBT card for additional benefits, such as discounted Amazon Prime subscriptions and museum admissions. The EBT card can also be used for discounted phone service through the Federal Lifeline Program.

SNAP benefits can be used to purchase certain food items but cannot be used to purchase certain non-food items. In 2023, SNAP recipients in South Carolina will receive a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), increasing their benefits by 12.5%.
SNAP benefits are available the day after case approval for new applicants and are sent out on the same day every month for ongoing cases.
