The deadline for the property tax/rent rebate program applications to end in Pennsylvania comes in 3 days. The applications close on December 31 and recipients will then be given a one-time bonus, says Parsons.
The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program is one of the five programs funded by the state of Pennsylvania. However, the deadline is already fast approaching because the applications will close on December 31. Residents of Pennsylvania who are qualified to receive the rebates on property or rent taxes paid in 2021 will receive a one-time bonus. These one-time bonus tax rebates will amount to 70% of the original tax rebates.
Who is eligible for these tax rebates?
To be eligible for the rebate program, recipients only need to be 65 or older, a widow or widower aged 50 or older, have disabilities and are aged 18 or older. There is an income limit of $35,000 for homeowners and $15,000 for renters every year. Half of the Social Security income is also not included.
Spouses, representatives, or properties may also claim the tax rebates on behalf of the eligible recipients. This is possible if they have lived at least one day in Pennsylvania in 2021 and have met all other eligibility requirements. A maximum of $650 worth of tax rebates can be received. However, additional rebates for eligible homeowners can increase the amount to $975, as reported by Parsons.
