$450 worth of Inflation Relief to be distributed to Floridians with children

Several Florida families will receive checks totaling $450 each to help them offset the impact of rising inflation and pay for goods for the upcoming school year, according to a report from CBS News via Picchi (2022).

About 59,000 families will receive the checks, which is a one-time payment. According to a statement from Florida’s Department of Children and Families, individuals must have satisfied one of the requirements as of July 1 in order to be qualified.

The qualified recipient must be a foster parent, a family member or non-family member providing care, a family receiving cash assistance under the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program, and lastly, a participant in the Guardianship Assistance Program.

The $35.5 million from Governor Ron DeSantis’ budget will be used to cover the payments, according to the state. If the awards hadn’t been made, the money would have gone back to the federal government. Officials stated that the checks need to arrive before to Florida’s “back-to-school” sales-tax holiday, which runs from July 25 to August 7 in line with the report published by WCTV (2022).

As stated in the letter from DeSantis, the State of Florida is providing them approximately $450 for each child in their care to help offset the costs of rising inflation, particularly as a new school year approach.

The $450 payments have already been mailed to the beneficiaries, so Floridians don’t need to apply for them, claimed by the state officials. It also mentioned that the check would arrive as soon as possible.
