Gabby Petito’s murderer, according to criminal defense attorney Matthew Barhoma, might have left behind some significant evidence that will lead to their capture.

The 22-year-old influencer died three to four weeks before authorities found her corpse in Wyoming. Brian Laundrie, her fiancé, is the only person who remains a person of interest. He’s been gone for weeks while the FBI and even Dog the Bounty Hunter scour the United States for him.

Many people still ask this question: Who is the killer of Gabby Petito?

This police camera video provided by The Moab Police Department shows Brian Laundrie talking to a police officer after police pulled over the van he was traveling in with his girlfriend, Gabrielle “Gabby” Petito, near the entrance to Arches National Park on Aug. 12, 2021. Killer of Gabby Petito Found?

In an interview with The Sun on how the finding of her corpse would impact forensics, he stated that the evidence is likely to vanish with time. The coroner’s office, on the other hand, is very astute.

He explained that they may utilize DNA evidence, blood evidence, and even look at how her neck bones were shattered to figure out as much as they can about the fight that led to her death.

Although it is regarded as a stumbling block, current evidence should be sufficient to get the most information. In fact, according to Barhoma, the most serious concern is if he left any DNA evidence on her body.

Gabby Petito died as a result of strangling or throttling, according to reports. However, those two terms are used to refer to two distinct types of lethal techniques.

In an interview with NewsNationNow, Teton County Coroner Brent Blue said that throttling usually indicates it was done by human hands rather than a piece of equipment.

Meanwhile, he clarified that manual strangling does not need any apparatus or instruments. When it comes to thoroughly examine the nature of the injuries, the specialist recommends focusing on the neck.

Petito’s Murder Case Still Being Investigated

Because the FBI is still looking for Gabby Petito’s murderer, the findings of the DNA and toxicological tests conducted on his corpse have not been published.

According to Matthew Barhoma, the probe seems to be moving slowly, but he thinks the FBI is on the correct track. He said that the FBI would be scrutinized at every step of the inquiry, from the beginning to the end, including the arrest, any potential questioning of the suspect, and the trial.

Laundrie Not Yet Clear From Charges

Brian Laundrie is still at large. But Barhoma believes Laundrie might have a strong defense against the bank fraud allegations (per Independent) he is still facing.

The suspect might claim that he had constructive ownership of her property and therefore had constructive permission to spend her money.

Laundrie may also claim constructive ownership of Petito’s possessions and, therefore, constructive permission to spend her money.
