Arkansas State Fair: State Records 93,620 Attendees In One Day, Largest Record Since 2018

With 93,620 fairgoers enjoying great weather on Saturday, the Arkansas State Fair established an all-time single-day attendance record.

The previous single-day attendance record, according to KARK, was achieved in 2018 with 91,003. Free attractions, an enlarged carnival midway, and wider parking areas drew record numbers, which were effectively handled.

The Vaccinate Arkansas Main Stage welcomed hip hop musician Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. The group performed to a sold-out crowd in the newly constructed concert space.

At 7 p.m., R&B band Bel Biv Devoe will perform on the Vaccinate Arkansas Main Stage. Exhibitions of 4H and livestock, creative arts contests, and the coveted Fair Queen and talent show events are still held today.

Arkansas State Fair 2021 Opens Friday

The 81st Arkansas State Fair starts Friday. The event featured 10 days of different activities at the State Fairgrounds, 2600 Howard St., off Roosevelt Road, Little Rock. Organizers launched the event after a one-year delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Arkansas Online said.

The Arkansas State Fair has always been about the food for many attendees. That’s why, every year, Kat Robinson, a local novelist and culinary writer extraordinaire, publishes a comprehensive guide on her website Tie Dye Travels.

There will be 52 food and beverage outlets on the fairgrounds, including the main food court, the Hall of Industry, and the midway. Arkansas Times said that gastronomic delights abound, such as turkey legs, pizza pretzels, and a funnel cake packed with chicken, bacon, and cheese.

What’s New This Year

KATV said the organizers displayed QR codes throughout the fairgrounds this year, providing a daily calendar of activities as well as maps.

The Little Rock Police Department have placed officers on the fairgrounds when it is open. Officers will also be stationed at each gate’s entry.

Adult entry is $12 per day, while children aged 6 to 12 pay $6 per day.

The fair is free for children under the age of six and seniors aged 60 and up.
