Arkansas State Police identified a decomposing corpse in Chicot County on Saturday. Special agents first discovered the decomposed body earlier last week.
Arkansas State Police Discovered a Decomposing Body
In a recently published article in FOX 16, Special agents with the Arkansas State Police are looking into the finding of a corpse along U.S. 65 near the Arkansas-Louisiana border earlier last week.
Agents could not tell whether the decomposed belonged to a male or a woman. The corpse was in a condition of advanced decomposition when it was discovered and is being transferred to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for identification and to establish the manner and cause of death.
Meanwhile, investigators have started inquiring about missing person reports with state and local law enforcement organizations in the area. A wider and deeper investigation is also ongoing to determine if there were declared or reported missing persons in the neighboring areas.
Arkansas State Police Identified the Decomposing Body
The corpse of a decomposing person discovered by Arkansas State Police in Chicot County on Saturday, Aug. 28 has been identified. Shenita Hicks, 32, of Lake Providence, Louisiana, was discovered dead along US Highway 65 south of Lake Village, according to a published report in TH11.
Special agents from the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division and deputies from the East Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Department will continue their investigation to discover where Hicks died and how he died.
The Arkansas State Police cannot yet establish the motive of the crime or when it did it first happen. However, they are now doing their best efforts to make sure that this case will be solved.
On the other hand, there were no developing reports if the families of the victim were already informed of the said incident. Meanwhile, there are no reports as well if a local news outlet tried to reach out to the family for comment.
