Hampton News: Series of Robberies Over the Weekend, Hampton Police Continues the Investigation

A man was detained in Hampton over the weekend in connection with a burglary. He was believed as the same suspect in another robbery.

Series of Robberies

In a recently published article in Wavy, Over the weekend, Hampton Police responded to a number of burglaries throughout the city. The first robbery happened at the County Grill restaurant in the first block of East Mercy Boulevard just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

Officers arrived on the scene to find two external glass doors with broken panes. The suspect gained access to the premises and examined the cash registers before leaving, according to a preliminary inquiry of the Police Officers and Detectives.

The second robbery took place in the 1300 block of North King Street at Riverdale Trophies. The guy allegedly smashed an outside glass, gained access, and examined the cash registers inside the company before leaving, according to detectives.

The third incident occurred in the 200 block of East Mercury Boulevard at Countryside Gardens, where the suspect again smashed an outside glass, gained access, and searched for cash before leaving, according to a recently published article in the Daily Advent.

Suspect Arrested, Hampton Police Seeks Community Help

Detectives were able to piece more information on a potential suspect car over the course of the investigation. Later, a car that matched the description was discovered. Michael Stephon Parker, the driver, was arrested in connection with one of the robberies, the one on Riverdale Trophies.

Meanwhile, Hampton police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a robbery at a Hampton convenience shop on Sunday evening. The incident was reported about 8:55 p.m. Sunday at the Speedy Mart shop in the 200 block of Lassiter Drive, according to police.

According to preliminary investigations, the suspect entered the shop, brandished a weapon, and demanded money. The suspect left the shop on foot after collecting an unknown sum of money. A black man wearing a black ski hat, blue shirt, white gloves, blue trousers, black shoes, and a black mask has been identified as the suspect, according to a published article in WTKR.

Furthermore, the Hampton Police officers are urging the public to immediately call their office if they have witnessed the robbery. Residents in the area are also warned to be extra careful because suspects are armed and may cause are capable to cause harm.

Needless to say, it is still not clear if the arrested suspect is linked to other suspects in other series of robberies during that day. The arrested suspect is now under the custody of Hampton Police.
