SHAWNEE, Kan. (KCTV) – The Shawnee Police Department conducted a three-day operation last week aimed at addressing retail theft in high-traffic shopping areas near W. 65th Street and Maurer Road.
According to a post on the Shawnee KS Police Department’s X account, the operation resulted in several arrests and recoveries. The outcomes included:
- Nine theft arrests
- Two firearms recovered from felons
- Two auto burglary arrests
- Two felony drug arrests
- One stolen vehicle recovered
- One arrest for aggravated assault on law enforcement officers
During the operation, one suspect attempted to flee from police by ramming a police vehicle. The full details of the operation were shared in the department’s post.
