How Much Will the 2025 COLA Increase SSDI Benefits?
The 2025 COLA will result in a 2.5% increase for SSDI beneficiaries. This means if you currently receive $1,000 a month, your new payment will be $1,025.
- Average SSDI payment: For those who receive an average SSDI payment of $1,542, the monthly benefit will increase by about $38, bringing the new total to $1,580.
- Maximum SSDI payment: The largest SSDI payment, which is tied to the taxable maximum earnings, will increase from $3,822 to $4,018 due to both the COLA and the increase in the taxable maximum.
The COLA boost varies depending on an individual’s benefit amount, as those receiving the taxable maximum will see a higher percentage increase than the average SSDI recipient.
