Rain Continues in the Region, With Cool Temperatures and Clearing Skies Expected

The region is experiencing its third consecutive day of rain, and today’s showers may bring occasional thunderstorms and periods of heavy rainfall.

Temperatures will gradually rise, reaching a peak around 75 degrees early in the afternoon. While rain will be persistent through the first half of the day, it is expected to become more scattered by the afternoon hours.

As the rain clears in the evening, skies will begin to clear overnight as a cold front moves through the Pine Belt. Temperatures will drop significantly, with lows dipping to around 40 degrees by sunrise tomorrow.

Tomorrow will bring abundant sunshine and a mild high of 55 degrees in the afternoon. A hard freeze is possible Wednesday night into early Thursday, with temperatures dropping near freezing for some areas.

Thursday will be another sunny day with temperatures reaching around 57 degrees in the afternoon. The night will remain cold, with lows expected to hover just above freezing, potentially bringing frost to some locations.

Friday will see an increase in cloud cover, but temperatures will remain comfortable, with highs near 61 degrees. The night will be cool, with lows around 47 degrees.

Spotty rain showers are expected to return Saturday, but details are still uncertain. Initial forecasts suggest the rain could be similar to the light showers seen this past weekend.

Next weekend’s temperatures are expected to be in the upper 60s, with cooler nights in the upper 40s.
