Contaminated Cannabis Products in New Mexico: Consumer Advisory Issued

The New Mexico Cannabis Control Division (CCD) issued a consumer health and safety advisory on Nov. 27 after discovering contaminated cannabis pre-rolls and roll-your-own (RYO) products containing a prohibited pesticide. The affected products, manufactured by JBS Technologies NM, LLC (operating as Stash House), were sold to licensed retailers in Albuquerque, Ruidoso, Sunland Park, and Las Cruces between January 1 and November 25.

The advisory, issued by the New Mexico Regulations and Licensing Department (NMRLD), revealed that the products tested positive for spinosyn, a pesticide that exceeds the legal limits set by state regulations. The CCD immediately ordered the affected cannabis products, identified under parent ID #2305513685689594, to be removed from the market.

The following products were part of the recall:

• Drool 2g Blunt—Nightmare Cookies
• Drool 2g Blunt—Wedding Punch
• Drool 2g Blunt—Rainbow Dream
• Drool 2g Blunt—Blue Dream
• Stone Road 14g RYO Forbidden Star Fruit

Consumers who purchased any of these products are urged to check the list and either dispose of them or return them to the retailer for proper disposal. While no health-related complaints have been reported, customers concerned about potential exposure to the pesticide should contact the New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center at 1-800-222-1222 or consult a healthcare professional.

The CCD emphasized that the recall is part of its commitment to ensuring cannabis products comply with health and safety standards and that retailers must adhere to the Pesticide Control Act (Sections 76-4-1 et seq. NMSA 1978). For non-health-related concerns, consumers can file complaints directly with the CCD.
