CSIR NET Exam Eligibility

The CSIR NET eligibility criteria for the year 2024 will be determined in the official notification of the National Exams Council. This will include age, nationality and educational qualifications.

• CSIR NET Nationality: Candidates must be permanent citizens of India.
• CSIR NET Age: The minimum age to apply is 30 years.

The age relaxation applies to all categories except those who wish to play in different categories. There is no age limit for speaking position.

Educational Qualifications:-

• Eligible candidates have a four-year BS program, BE/B.Tech/B.Pharma/Integrated BS-MS/MBBS/BSc(Hons)/M.Sc, or equivalent degree.
• Students enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD program or Equivalent degree/B.Sc (Hons) are also eligible to apply.
• General & OBC-NCL candidates (50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually handicapped candidates) must complete the qualifying exam with at least 55% marks.
• M.Sc. or those who have just completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying exam are eligible under Result Awaited (RA) category.
• However, the qualifying degree must be completed with the required percentage of marks within two years to benefit from their participation.
• Candidates with a degree in science, engineering, or any other discipline are eligible for a Ph.D./ Integrated Ph.D. The project is within 2 years of the allocation.

CSIR NET December 2024 Exam Apply Online

The institute conducting the CSIR NET examination will release the application form and CSIR NET Dec 2024 Official Notification on the official website. Candidates can fill the application form by following the steps mentioned below.

• Visit the official website – csirnet.nta.nic.in.

• Click on the link “Fill online CSIR NET Application Form 2024” on the homepage.
• Select the “Register New” option for new applicants.
• On the new page, check the box and then click “Click Here to Continue.”
• Fill your personal details in the CSIR NET application form.
• See the research documents and declarations provided and click on final submit.
• Click Yes in the displayed dialogue box to confirm registration.

CSIR NET Merit List 2024

The CSIR NET Merit List 2024 is prepared based on the performance of qualifying candidates, who are subsequently ranked according to their scores. CSIR NET Dec 2024 Normalization Process

Here’s a step-by-step procedure for CSIR NET Dec 2024 Normalization Process and preparation of results for exams conducted on multiple dates with different sets of questions:-

Step 1: Distribution of Examinees in Two Shifts.

• Divide candidates into two sessions randomly to ensure approximately equal number of candidates in each session.
• Every session will have a different time slot, such as Day-1 Shift-1 and Day-1 Shift-2.

Step 2: Preparation of Results for Each Session

• Calculate raw scores for each candidate in each session.
• Calculate percentile scores for each candidate in each session using the following formula:
• Total Percentile (TP1): 100 x (Number of candidates appeared from the session with raw score equal to or less than T1 score) / Total Number of candidates appeared in the session.

Step 3: Compilation of NTA Score and Preparation of Result.

• Merge the percentile scores for all sessions (Session-1: Day-1 Shift-1, Session-2: Day-1 Shift-2) to create a single NTA score.
• Use the NTA scores to compile the final results and determine the eligibility cut-off for each category.
• If the percentiles for different shifts are uneven, use the lowest percentile score as the eligibility cut-off for all candidates.
• For example, if the examination is held in two shifts and the 40% marks correspond to a percentile score of 78 in Shift 1 and 79 in Shift 2, then all candidates with a percentage score of 100 to 78 will be eligible in the General Category.
