This feels like a game where Brandon Aiyuk reminds everybody why the San Francisco 49ers gave him $120 million this offseason. Despite not having George Kittle or Deebo Samuel, the Niners have plenty of ammunition to score at will against the Los Angeles Rams.
Marvin Harrison Jr. and Jameson Williams both went for more than 100 yards in each of the two previous games, including having 50+ yard receptions. Today is a game where the Niners can spam targets to Aiyuk.
While it’s technically a road game, the 49ers faithful is out in full force at Levi’s South. There won’t be any snap count issues in Week 3 for the Niners. Perhaps that will help the pass rush come alive, as they have been hit or miss so far this season.
There’s also little reason to believe that Jordan Mason won’t continue to rush for over 100 yards against a banged-up and inexperienced Rams defensive line.
What the Niners can’t afford to do is give the Rams false hope and hang around.
