In a parallel investigation, the district attorney’s office plans to indict the defendants on charges including robbery, drug trafficking, and illegal possession and sale of firearms. Authorities said they arrested a murder suspect in the mistaken identity killing of Silvano Mendoza, a 52-year-old farm worker, killed on a day he didn’t typically work on June 13. Witnesses say that he was on his way home when suddenly they heard gunshots. The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office has charged Francisco Muñoz Jr., 26, who was arrested in the act, with first-degree murder under special circumstances.

Mendoza’s daughter Almira said, she has moved into a different city for her to feel safe and ease the pain.
The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office has charged Francisco Muñoz Jr., 26, who was arrested in the act, with first-degree murder under special circumstances. Officials say the arrest should immediately reduce the violent crime rate in Fresno County. Fresno County Assistant District Attorney Robert Veneman-Hughes said violent street gangs see the area’s economically devastated communities as prey.
