A satellite has captured an image of Yevgeny Prigozhin’s plane wreckage that crashed in northwestern Russia on Wednesday, August 23. The plane reportedly carried none other than Yevgeny Prigozhin, a Russian warlord with controversial ties and a turbulent history. There were no survivors, as confirmed by Russian authorities.
Yevgeny Prigozhin’s Plane Wreckage Spotted from Space
On Thursday, August 24, a satellite under the auspices of San Francisco-based company Planet captured a photograph of the crash site and Yevgeny Prigozhin’s plane wreckage, a published article reported.
Planet, renowned for its constellation of Dove cubesats, which can discern features as small as 10 feet (3 meters) on Earth’s surface, utilized a SkySat to capture Thursday’s photograph of Yevgeny Prigozhin’s plane wreckage. These minifridge-sized crafts possess even more acute visual capabilities, boasting a resolution of about 28 inches (72 centimeters).
The image portrays a serene grassy area enveloped by trees, within which Yevgeny Prigozhin’s plane wreckage is visible. A fleet of several dozen vehicles is noticeable, presumably part of the recovery and investigative effort underway.

Root Cause of Yevgeny Prigozhin’s Plane Wreckage and Crash
According to Technology Tag, the root cause of the crash remains unavailable. However, speculations include the disturbing possibility that foul play may have been at work.
One news outlet, Baza, known for its reliable sources within law enforcement agencies, has reported that investigators are contemplating the theory that one or perhaps two explosive devices may have been placed on board the aircraft.
Reuters has echoed this sentiment, adding that U.S. officials are entertaining the possibility of a surface-to-air missile strike as well.
Putin’s televised remarks after the plane crash and following Yevgeny Prigozhin’s plane wreckage was found, offered a glimpse into their complex association stating he had known Prigozhin for a very long time, since the start of the ’90s and that he made serious mistakes in life and he was a man with a difficult fate.
