A Chicago man has been arrested for attempted murder in connection with an I-57 shooting incident that occurred in November 2022, where multiple gunshots were fired from his vehicle, injuring another driver.

Suspect in I-57 Shooting Incident Faced Attempted Murder Charges

According to Fox 32 Chicago’s report, a Chicago man suspected in an I-57 shooting incident last year is now charged with attempted murder. Damarco Watkins-Romaine, 29, suspect of the I-57 shooting incident, was arrested and charged on Thursday following an extensive investigation into the incident that occurred on Nov. 23, 2022, according to Illinois State Police.

In an northbound I-57 shooting incident at 99th Street, a person was driving when Damarco Watkins-Romaine allegedly pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots, striking the motorist. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to state police.

On Thursday, the suspect of the I-57 shooting incident, Damarco Watkins-Romaine, was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, and aggravated discharge of a firearm.
