A Tennessee man, identified as 60-year-old Jeffery Allen Branam, is currently in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center after being accused of a horrifying crime: attempting to kill his family member, WMBF News reported.
Tennessee Man Drove Across Two State Lines
The incident occurred when a Tennessee man, Branam drove across two state lines from Tennessee to North Myrtle Beach.
On July 28, North Myrtle Beach police responded to reports of a shooting at the Crescent Shores condominium complex on Ocean Boulevard. They found a Tennessee man being restrained by two others in the complex’s parking deck. An 18-year-old woman had sustained a gunshot wound to her shoulder and was taken to the hospital. Thankfully, she was released shortly after receiving medical attention.
According to authorities, the Tennesse man’s wife and stepdaughters had recently obtained an order of protection against him in Knox County, Tennessee, just one day before the incident. Undeterred by the protective order, Tennessee man, Branam made the nearly nine-hour drive to North Myrtle Beach, where he confronted the women on the Crescent Shores parking deck.

Tennessee Man Allegedly Pointed A Pistol
There, the Tennessee man allegedly pointed a pistol at his wife and attempted to shoot her. During the harrowing ordeal, his stepdaughter intervened and was injured as she tried to knock the gun away, Yahoo Finance News reported.
As a result of his actions, Tennessee man, Branam is facing two counts each of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and violation of a protective order. However, the investigation is ongoing, and police have suggested that additional charges may be brought against the Tennessee man as they gather more evidence and information.
