Lake City

According to Rivera, the Lake City holds the title of being Florida’s most dangerous city. Among the most dangerous cities in the state, the crime rate of the city amounts to 1,547 for every 100,000 residents. Aside from ranking the worst in the state, the Lake City also ranks the worst in the whole nation.

Despite a small population of around 12,500 residents and a lower cost of living, the Lake City also suffers from extreme poverty. The probability of becoming a victim of a crime in the Lake City is reportedly almost four times higher than the average of the whole of Florida.

Riviera Beach

The Riviera Beach holds the title of the city with the highest murder rate in the state of Florida. Despite a small population of around 35,000 residents, the city has an alarming rate of murder which is seven times higher than the average of the whole of the U.S.

Riviera Beach is located on the outskirts of the metropolitan area of Miami. The safest area in the city is Singer Island, but the other remaining areas contribute to the reason why Riviera Beach is one of the most dangerous cities in Florida. Ironically, the city is only a 10-minute drive to North Palm Beach which is one of the safest cities in the state.
