A mass shooting in St. Louis leaves 1 dead and 9 injured, all of them juveniles between the ages of 15-19 years old, CBS News reported.
What Happened to the Mass Shooting in St. Louis?
Police are now investigating the mass shooting in St. Louis, Missouri last Sunday morning. St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that 1 is dead and 9 others were injured.
St. Louis Police Chief Robert Tracy confirmed at a news conference that the mass shooting in St. Louis happened on Sunday at around 1 a.m. at the 14th Street intersection and Washington Avenue.
Police officers in the area first saw a large group of people running from a building. Afterward, officers received several calls about a mass shooting on the building’s fifth floor.
According to the preliminary investigation, the shooting happened on the fifth floor of the building where a group of young people was attending a party in an office space.
As the officers arrived, they found 10 people with gunshot wounds. A 17-year-old male was declared dead while the 9 other victims had been struck at least once by gunfire.
St. Louis Police Chief Tracy said that a 17-year-old female has suffered serious injuries after she was possibly trampled while running to exit the building.
Mass Shooting in St. Louis
The victim’s condition was not yet released to the public since Sunday night. Police have found and recovered multiple firearms and shell cases at the scene and also a handgun and an AR-style pistol, which were believed in the possession of the person of interest who was put into custody because of the crime.
Surprisingly, the police chief confirmed that the suspect is also a juvenile. The motive behind the mass shooting has not been shared.
