This year’s legislative session in New Mexico approved the Tax Rebate 2023 to be issued on June 16 and the payments to arrive in bank accounts on June 20. Reportedly, the state’s Taxation and Revenue Department will distribute $500 to every individual filer and $1,000 to every joint filer.

According to Rodriguez, taxpayers who filed their 2021 tax return and opted for direct deposit will immediately receive the Tax Rebate 2023 on June 20. On the contrary, those who opted for paper checks can expect to receive the payments between June 20 and 29. Nonetheless, the paper checks may take more days to be delivered depending on the schedule of the postal services.

Who will qualify for the Tax Rebate 2023?

According to Impelli, there is no application needed to be submitted to be able to qualify for the Tax Rebate 2023. Taxpayers only need to have filed their 2021 tax return and have not been declared as a dependent of others.

However, taxpayers who have changed their banking information after filing their 2021 tax return will receive the Tax Rebate 2023 through the mail. Those who have transferred to a different address can update their information by submitting a form to the Taxation and Revenue Department or their website.
