Phoenix Metro Area Shootings Killed 4 and Left 1 Wounded, Suspect Arrested

The suspect of the five separate Phoenix Metro area shootings that left four people dead and one wounded was arrested by police authorities on Sunday.

Phoenix Metro Area Shootings

Police authorities responded to five different Phoenix Metro area shootings.

Police said officers were dispatched around 10:30 pm Friday to a Mesa park. When they reached the scene, they found a 41-year-old dead man, AP News reported.

While still at the park, authorities reportedly heard shots being fired nearby. They searched the area and found an injured 36-year-old woman with serious injuries. She was brought to the hospital and remains in stable condition.

At around 1 am Sunday, police received another call about a body that was found in a Mesa bus station. They discovered in the scene the dead body of the 41-year-old man and then another dead man after 2 am.

Police authorities also responded to a fatal shooting Friday afternoon in Phoenix.

During the investigation, police said that the victims had gunshot wounds and found shell casings in the scenes. All shell casings that were in the Phoenix Metro area shootings were all linked to the same 9mm handgun.

A video surveillance footage was released showing the suspect wearing the same clothing reported by witnesses at Phoenix Metro area shootings.  The names of the victims in the Phoenix Metro area shootings were not released until relatives could be notified.

Suspect of Phoenix Metro Area Shootings Was Arrested

Police authorities arrested a suspect in connection with five separate Phoenix Metro area shootings that left four people dead and a woman wounded.

According to Mesa police,  a 20-year-old suspect Iren Byers was taken into custody Sunday. He was arrested on suspicion of four counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder in connection with Phoenix Metro Area Shootings.

During the investigation, police said that the suspect took responsibility for the Phoenix Metro area shootings. He even told the officer where to find the gun and clothes that were used in the crimes.

 It was not clear if the suspect of the Phoenix Metro area shootings has a lawyer who could speak on his behalf.

Details of the Phoenix shooting haven’t been released yet.
