The people of California called for Sen. Diane Feinstein’s resignation due to her long absences in the Senate regardless of her retirement plan at the end of her term in 2024.

Age and Health Issues Cause Sen. Diane Feinstein’s Resignation

Calling for Feinstein’s resignation is the new trend issues on California today. Senator Diane Feinstein has nearly away from the Senate for almost two months missing some 60 votes. Democrats think that Feinstein’s Resignation is the best idea. She’s recovering from shingles and complications have delayed her return to Washington. Her absence, particularly on the powerful Senate Judiciary Committee, is holding up Democrats’ world.

According to Rep. Ro Khanna that “she can no longer full fill her duties” while Rep. Dean Phillips states that it was a “dereliction of duty” to hold onto her position. But Feinstein says she will only allow someone to replace her while she is still sick.

Even though the calls for Feinstein’s resignation are growing so fast both in and outside the government, some other members of the committee are against their calls. There are members that are pro-Feinstein’s side because they still believe in Feinstein’s capabilities.

Newsom Faces Issues About Feinstein’s Resignation

According to Newsom’s first statement that he will be appointing black women when Feinstein finally retired at the end of her term in 2024. Now that Democrats calls for Feinstein’s resignation due to health issues, he contradicted his first statement and alienated black women.

On the other hand, Schickler critically thinks of “breaking a pledge like that” is not easy because in future elections the governor will encourage black voters.
