These benefits include those for old retirees and the disabled. Statistics revealed that 33% of a retiree’s income comes from the SSA every month.According to Quirós Villalba, 9 out of 10 retirees who are over the age of 65 receive the Social Security checks in 2023. Unfortunately, a large part of these beneficiaries have no other source of income apart from the Social Security benefits.

Who can apply for the Social Security Checks in 2023?
An article on the AARP states that in order to receive the Social Security checks in 2023, a beneificary may apply for the retirement or the disability benefits. There are more types of benefits but these two are the most common in Social Security.
For the retirement benefits, a beneficiary must need to provide their date and place of birth. They must also provide their marital status and the number of children they have. The dates of when they started and ended their jobs in the past two years must also be included. Lastly, the routing number of the bank and the number and type of account a beneficiary has must also be provided.
For the disability benefits, apart from the personal documents such as a birth certificate, employment, and records of earnings, a beneficiary must also provide their medical history and treatment. They must also submit an Adult Disability Report and participate in an interview in person or through a phone call.
