In April 2012, Shazer Fernando Limas, 42, has reportedly stabbed his girlfriend Arlet Hernandez Contreras, 31, 48 times. Limas then proceeded to kill Contreras’ young sons, 16-month-old Fernando Hernandez Limas and 2-month-old Emanuel Hernandez Limas, thereafter. Reports say the stabbing incident was preceded by an argument around two days earlier.

According to an article on the Fox News, Limas even left the dead bodies of Contreras and her young sons to rot in a closet on the balcony for 10 days. During these days, Limas has reportedly rented limousines, gone to dance clubs, and even invited friends over to his apartment where the stabbing incident took place.

According to Schlepp, Contreras’ remains were found dumped in a gutter in an industrial area in Los Angeles County. Limas reportedly hauled Contreras’ body into a huge chest and transported it using a rented U-Haul. After dumping Contreras’ body, authorities believed that Limas drove another 100 miles to dump the bodies of the young children as well. Unfortunately, to date, the children’s bodies are still not found.

A few days after the alleged disposal of the bodies, Limas reportedly ended the lease on his apartment. However, the apartment’s management received a report from the workers about the pools of blood under the bleached carpet, blood splatters on the walls, and a suspicious smell. Limas was then arrested after a police chase on two freeways.

In December 2022, Limas was convicted of three counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances of multiple murders. On February 3, Limas was finally sentenced to three life terms in prison in Orange County, California. However, even after the conviction, Limas did not give the Contreras’ family peace of mind by revealing the location of the young children’s bodies.
