Financial services company Wells Fargo has resolved to settle the lawsuit filed against them by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). A lawsuit was filed against Wells Fargo for the illegal activities the company has allegedly made. The illegal activities involve erroneous charges and interest rates on unauthorized closures and vehicle repossessions. The CFPB has discovered the illegal activities made by Wells Fargo in their regular bank accounts and mortgage and vehicle loans.

According to Campisi, Wells Fargo has resolved to pay more than 16 million of its customers with more than $2 billion. These customers were those who were affected by the violations between 2021 and 2022. The payment is only a part of the $3.7 billion agreed settlement. The remaining money will be used as a relief fund for the affected customers.
