Only 1 week is left for victims to claim up to $25,000 from the $350 million T-Mobile settlement. Early this year, T-Mobile agreed to pay a settlement after a lawsuit was filed for the cyberattack in 2021.

Following the criminal cyberattack in 2021, T-Mobile has agreed to pay a $350 million settlement for the class action lawsuit filed against them. According to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), T-Mobile will also pay an additional $150 million for data security and related technology. The final approval hearing for the case is scheduled on January 20, 2023, at 10 am. On the other hand, the deadline to apply for the payments will be on January 23, 2023.
According to Weiss, the criminal cyberattack has exposed millions of T-Mobile users’ addresses, passwords, and other personal information. T-Mobile says that following the settlement, victims can claim up to $25, while residents of California can claim up to $100. Victims who have spent money or time to recover from the cyberattack can claim up to $25,000. In addition, T-Mobile also agreed to pay for 2 years of McAfee’s ID Theft Protection Service to any person who believes they have been a victim of the cyberattack.

Who is eligible for these payments?
According to Weiss, once the settlement is approved, more than 76 million users who had been victims of the cyberattack will be eligible to claim the payments. However, in order to receive the payments, one must confirm their status by sending an email to the Settlement Administrator or calling 833-512-2314. One can also visit the T-Mobile settlement website and submit a claim. Lastly, one can also physically mail a printed claim form to:
