Mother Of Idaho Murder Victim: “My Son Loved Unconditionally and Touched Lives”

Stacy Wells Chapin is the mother to Ethan Chapin, one of the four University of Idaho students murdered on November 13, 2022. On a Facebook post on January 11, Stacy reminisced about his late son.

Four Victims of Idaho University Murders

On January 11, Stacy Wells Chapin wrote in a Facebook post about her late son Ethan Chapin. According to the post, Ethan was deeply supported by their family of five. The post described Ethan as happy, carefree, loyal to everyone, and made them feel included. It also significantly mentioned that the Chapin family spent no time being angry, saying nothing would change the outcome no matter what.

The Chapins are now looking forward to the future, says the Facebook post. On the very same day, Stacy has dropped off two of her other children, Maizie and Hunter, at the University of Idaho, the same school Ethan attended. The family has spent the last eight weeks in tears, talks, walks, hikes, and cards. Above all, Stacy reminded her children to keep their goals and aspirations in mind.

According to Sabes, Stacy has also given an update regarding Ethan’s possessions and stated that they are “frozen with the defense.” This means that the defense team is still looking at every item on-site whenever it is needed.

About the Murder Case

According to Sabes, Chapin was one of the four University of Idaho students who were murdered on November 13, 2022. Chapin, 20, Xana Kernodle, 20, Kaylee Goncalves 21, and Madison Mogen, 21, were stabbed to death in Moscow, Idaho by a suspect later identified as Bryan Kohberger, 28. Kohberger was eventually arrested on December 30 in Albrightsville, Pennsylvania. He faced one count of burglary with intent to commit murder and four counts of first-degree murder. If Kohberger gets convicted of the first-degree murder, he will be sentenced to life in prison or the death penalty.
