Dog the Bounty Hunter has returned to Colorado after making his personal manhunt for Brian Laundrie. He would be treating his injury and is expected to take care of some business.

The Independent said Dog, whose real name is Duane Lee Chapman, has been out and about recently assisting Florida police in their manhunt for the FBI’s sole person of interest in the Gabby Petito murder investigation.

North Port Police Department officers searched the marshy 25,000-acre Carlton Reserve for weeks, searching for the wanted guy. At the same time, tipsters claim Laundrie sightings as far north as the North Carolina-Tennessee line.

Unidentified Body Found In North Carolina Park; Is It Brian Laundrie?

Authorities discovered a body at a beautiful North Carolina overlook over the weekend. Still, it was soon determined that it was not the 23-year-old, according to WPDE.

“At this time there is no evidence to connect or any reason to believe it is related to the search for fugitive Brian Laundrie,” the FBI said in a statement on Sunday.

The FBI has joined the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation to investigate the remains’ finding.

Officials have yet to identify the body discovered under the Yadkin Valley Overlook along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Timeline Of Manhunt

After Brian Laundrie disappeared from his parents’ home in North Port, Florida, the feds began a manhunt for him last month. Brian is still on the run after his 22-year-old fiancée, a Long Island resident, disappeared and died.

After Laundrie returned alone on Sept. 1 in Petito’s 2012 Ford Transit, police searched for him in the preserve near his North Port house. He hired a lawyer because he was the last person to see her. However, he refused to talk to the police when requested to assist with investigations.

Before Petito died, he and the victim enjoyed their cross-country vacation since June. They had chronicled their experiences on social media. Petito’s corpse was discovered on Sept. 19, more than a week after being reported missing, at a remote Wyoming campsite.

According to the New York Post, although Brian Laundrie has not been charged with Gabby’s murder, he is sought on federal counts of fraud after using Petito’s bank card to withdraw funds during her absence.
