Low- To Moderate-Income Households Could Qualify For The Rebate

From $18 Million ‘charging’ pot, Oregon residents can claim payments of up to $5,000. Oregon offers its residents the Charge Ahead rebate that has or will purchase or lease an electric vehicle (EV) or zero-emission vehicle.  According to The U.S. Sun, the vehicle can be new or used but to qualify the vehicle user must belong to low-income or moderate-income households.

Even before purchasing the EV, the owner could get pre-approved and get a voucher for $5,000 which can be applied at point of sale or lease. A resident can still apply after purchasing or leasing an EV, but within 6 months, applications must be submitted.

Who Are Qualified For The Oregon Charge Ahead Rebate?

Qualified Oregon residents must be below the 400% federal poverty line based on household size according to The U.S. Sun. That is, a single individual should have an annual income less than $60,240 and if a household of two, income can’t exceed $81,760.  A proof of income will be needed in the application. The EV can be new or used, could be battery or plug-in hybrids with an original MSRP of under $50,000.
