Eligible residents can now claim their property tax rebate in Pennsylvania, according to the state’s Department of Revenue.

Pennsylvania Department of Revenue announced that eligible residents in the state can now claim their property tax rebate in Pennsylvania. Residents in Keystone can claim up to $650 while qualified homeowners can claim an amount of up to $975.

In a published article in The Gazette, the state’s Department of Revenue said that this is intended to help and provide financial assistance to the elderly and persons with disabilities currently living in the state. A spokesperson from the revenue Department strongly advised the eligible applicants to use their online filing system mypath.pa.gov.

He also added, “Filing online is simple and is the best way for eligible claimants to make sure that their rebate applications are processed as quickly as possible,” It is also important to note that the deadline for the application of property tax rebate in Pennsylvania is on June 30 and will end on December 31.

Eligibility and How Much Will You Receive?

Not everyone is qualified and eligible for the property tax rebate in Pennsylvania. According to an article published in Local Today, here are the eligibilities:

  • Pennsylvania residents must be at least 65 years old
  • aAwidow or widower at least 50 years old
  • A person with disabilities at least 18 years old
  • Income limit for this rebate is $35,000 a year for homeowners and $15,000 a year for renters, with half of any Social Security income they receive excluded

How Much Will You Get?

For homeowners:

  • $650 from this rebate if they make $8,000 or less annually
  • $500 if they make $8,001 to $15,000 annually
  • $300 if they make $15,001 to $18,000 annually
  • $250 if they make $18,001 to $35,000 annually

For renters:

  • $650 if they make $8,000 or less annually
  • $500 if they make $8,001 to $15,000 annually
