Shocking Betrayal of Trust: Former Law Enforcement Officer Accused of Viewing and Sharing Explicit Content
According to True Crime News, Trevor Willis a 33-year-old former detention deputy is accused of accessing child pornography on his phone while on duty at the Pinellas County Jail. The content allegedly included videos of children between the ages of 5 and 15 including one video of a child having sex with a dog. Willis admitted to viewing and sending this explicit content.
The news of Willis’ arrest sent shockwaves throughout the community as it is alleged that he was accessing this illegal material while on duty at the jail. On July 1 Willis was arrested and booked into the Pinellas County Jail on multiple counts of possession and transmission of child pornography as well as two counts of sexual activity involving animals. He resigned from his position as a detention deputy on the day of his arrest a move that was likely seen as a necessary step to maintain the integrity of the agency. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office subsequently obtained a search warrant for Willis’ home in Lutz, where they discovered additional pornographic material on a social media app linked to him.
