Dustin Neal Receives 142-Year Sentence for 2017 Double Murder

According to 21alivenews, a man from Fort Wayne named Dustin Neal, aged 36, has been given a 142-year sentence for a crime in 2017. The judgment was given by a judge in Allen County on Friday. Neal was charged in January of the previous year for stabbing Noele Trice and Bryan Lash to death on June 10, 2017. After a trial in early February, a jury found Neal guilty of two murders, two felony murders, and two robberies causing serious bodily harm. During the sentencing on Friday, Neal got 65 years for each murder and an extra six years for the robberies, making it a total of 142 years. The felony murder charges were dropped because of double jeopardy. The families of the victims, who had been waiting for justice for a long time, felt relieved after the sentencing.

Families Find Comfort After Dustin Neal’s Sentencing for Double Murder

Noele Trice’s mother, Kimberly Gomez, spoke in court about the emotional toll on the families and their commitment to keeping the memories of the victims alive. Even though it took a long time for the legal process, the families finally found closure. They celebrated justice being served with a balloon release. Since the sad incident in 2017, Kimberly Gomez has been taking care of her grandson, King, who was only two years old when his parents were killed. Now at the age of nine, King shared his feelings about Neal in a letter read in court by Audrey Trice, King’s aunt. The families, who went through a very tough time due to the delay in justice, finally found comfort as they came together to remember Noele Trice and Bryan Lash after the sentencing.
