A New Jersey mother who went missing on Mother’s Day was found dead on a highway Wednesday, officials said.

Mother’s Day event turned into four days of grief

A report was released four days after celebrating Mother’s Day. Authorities said that a mom from new jersey was reported missing and was found dead on the roadside on Wednesday. The Hudson County Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday that the death of Norellis Mendoza, 32, is being investigated as a suspicious person. She was confirmed dead at the scene. The cause of her death and the manner in which she died is pending the findings of the local coroner’s office.

The tragic event that left two daughters orphaned

Mendoza’s cousin Giovanni Molina said “She left her mother’s apartment on Saturday which was her last contact with the family. She called her phone but it didn’t go through.”

According to the media, Molina added, “It was particularly tragic because of the time. We suffered for four days which means we had no idea where Norelis was.”
