On Friday morning, a homeless man in Little Rock went back to the gas station to pay for a Little Debbie cake he took after walking in on a robbery.
In a report from THV11, Little Rock Police said they received a robbery call at a Big Red store at Valero gas station on West 12th Street at around 3:30 a.m., and they rushed to the scene shortly after.
The employee reportedly said that the suspect approached him while working at the counter and demanded the money in the register. While the employee was putting the money into a bag, a homeless man walked in.
According to the report from the station, the suspect urged the homeless man to take whatever he wanted, so the homeless man grabbed a Little Debbie cake and went away.
Minutes after the police arrived, the homeless man returned to the site, telling authorities that he had come back to pay for the cake he had “stolen” earlier.
According to police, the suspect also took two packs of cigarettes but could not obtain a pack of beer because the cooler was locked at the time. The suspect reportedly escaped from the gas station in a vehicle. Authorities have not released the suspect or vehicle description.
