Debris from the missing Titanic submarine has been discovered on the sea floor, leading to the tragic confirmation that the five individuals on board did not survive, CBS News reported.
Debris Of Missing Titanic Submarine Found
The U.S. Coast Guard expressed their condolences to the families affected by this devastating incident. The cause of the submarine’s disappearance was identified as a “catastrophic implosion” resulting from the vessel’s pressure chamber failure.
During the search operation, an acoustic anomaly consistent with an implosion was detected by the U.S. Navy shortly after the submarine, named Titan, lost contact with the surface. This information aided the Coast Guard in narrowing down the search area. Despite the detection of banging noises earlier in the week, they were determined to be unrelated to the missing sub.
The wreckage of the submarine, including the tail cone, was located approximately 1,600 feet away from the bow of the Titanic on the sea floor.
The debris, found over 2 miles beneath the water’s surface, was confirmed to be from the missing sub by experts. Rear Adm. John Mauger of the Coast Guard extended his deepest condolences to the families, emphasizing the unforgiving nature of the underwater environment.
The team of experts involved in the operation will continue mapping the scattered debris to gain a comprehensive understanding of the wreckage. Notably, the sub’s remains were discovered in an area of the sea floor devoid of debris from the ill-fated ocean liner.
While the exact cause of the implosion remains unknown, ongoing investigations aim to provide answers. The Coast Guard will maintain underwater robots at the site to gather further information. Recovery prospects for the deceased individuals are uncertain at this time.

Missing Titanic Submarine Tragedy Unfolds
As the details of this tragic event continue to unfold, the focus remains on supporting the families affected and providing closure.
The adventurous spirit and dedication of those involved in the exploration, such as billionaire adventurer Hamish Harding and French explorer Paul-Henri Nargeolet, were acknowledged and celebrated by their respective communities.
The international search effort for the missing Titanic submarine involved the deployment of search planes, ships, and underwater robots. Despite the extensive operation, the limited oxygen supply on board the sub was a concerning factor, which ultimately resulted in the loss of all five individuals on board.
