Ivori Howard was arrested after breaching the security fence surrounding the Bush Airport in Houston, Texas. Reports say following the intrusion, the flight facility, including the runway, had temporarily shut down.
On June 6, at around 8:30 p.m., Ivori Howard, 22, reportedly trespassed the security fence surrounding the Bush Airport in Houston, Texas by going under a section of it. Following the security breach, Howard gained access to the airfield of one of the runways.According to Wehner, consequently, authorities from the Bush Airport temporarily shut down the runway. Thereafter, the Houston Police and the airport’s operations crews responded and arrested Howard due to the security breach.
Officials of the Bush Airport stated that the breached security fence complied with federal regulations. Nonetheless, they collaborated with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to establish additional infrastructure and avoid further trespasses.
Security At Bush Airport
According to Conner, Howard faced charges of intent to impair or interrupt operations of a critical infrastructure facility. Officials of the Bush Airport stated that breaching an airport’s security is both a state and federal crime.
Nonetheless, the officials also stated that they conduct patrols inside and outside the security fence several times a day. The airport reportedly also has a surveillance system that provides the security team with the ability to detect any violation of security. In addition, there is also the airport staff who are responsible for the 10,000 acres, 43 miles of runways and taxiways, 100 miles of roadways and around 30 miles of barbed-wire fence.
