Convicted Child Rapist Sentenced To 35 Years, Chemical Castration in Louisiana

Ryan Clark was sentenced to 35 years in prison and chemical castration upon release. Reports say the convicted child rapist pleaded guilty two weeks ago.

On July 16, 2020, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible incident between Ryan Clark, 34, and a minor. The report allegedly came from a person that the victim had confided in. Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux of the 21st Judicial District stated that the victim recounted that the incident kept on happening for more than a year.

According to Sabes, when the victim was interviewed, another one was discovered. On July 17, 2020, the child rapist was taken into custody and faced charges of molestation of a minor and sexual battery. Just this March 1, Clark pleaded guilty to the two counts of molestation of a juvenile under 13, sexual battery, and criminal charges of second-degree rape.

Before Clark’s guilty plea, in 2021, the child rapist has also been convicted of misdemeanor carnal knowledge of a juvenile and spent 228 days in prison. However, in his recent case, Clark was sentenced to 35 years in the Lousiana Department of Corrections. 25 years of the term will be served with no benefits and upon release, the child rapist must undergo chemical castration. In addition, Clark will be registered as a sex offender and will be relinquished of all parental rights.

Chemical Castration to the Child Rapist

An article on the FOX 8 states that chemical castration is legal in the state of Louisiana since 2008. This was made possible when former Governor Bobby Jindal signed a bill into law that allowed drug treatments for those found guilty of certain crimes. These crimes include such as aggravated rape, aggravated incest, aggravated crime against nature, forcible rape, molestation of a juvenile, and second-degree sexual battery.
