Authorities discovered a body that closely matched the description of missing van-life YouTuber Gabby Petito.
The corpse discovered in Moosey, Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park has yet to be officially verified to be that of Petito, 22, who had lost touch with her family as early as August 30. But preliminary investigations have led officials to think it is, according to Fox News.
According to FBI Denver field office supervisory senior resident agent Charles Jones, human remains compatible with Gabrielle Gabby Petito’s description were found.
Teton County Coroner Brent Blue said Petito’s cause of death has not to be established, awaiting an autopsy.
Gabby Petito Case: A Timeline
The FBI and other local law enforcement agencies began their investigations after launching a rescue effort in the national forest on Saturday for Petito, who had last visited the region on August 27.
Investigators and search teams on horses rushed the area searching for Petito. Police put up a white tent in the isolated national park.
According to investigators, Petito was driving from New York to Oregon in a white 2012 Ford Transit with her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, 23, to see the West together.
Earlier in the vacation, her family had shown no worry for the two since they had been sharing their experiences and the joys of youthful love on social media.

However, investigations revealed that on August 12, police had to interfere when a fight between Petito and Laundrie in Moab, Utah became violent. According to the Daily Beast, no charges were filed in the original incident.
After touring Utah, the lady allegedly told her family that they would be heading to Grand Teton. On August 30, she stopped texting her mother.
The final text message said that there was no service in Yosemite, which the family thinks to be the location of Petito’s suspected murderer at the time.
In late August, police discovered the couple’s modified vehicle near Spread Creek. Petito’s disappearance was only reported when the family realized Laundrie had returned home without their daughter. Petito was one of three individuals reported missing this summer near Grand Teton Park.
Gabby Petito Case: Laundrie Remains A Person Of Interest
According to ABC News, police have named Laundrie as a person of interest in her disappearance after she strangely refused to cooperate with the investigation.
Since Tuesday, the guy has also seemed to be hiding from the police.
Laundrie was last seen outside of North Port, investigating the alligator-infested Carlton Reserve. On Saturday, North Port Police launched a search and started searching the 24,565-acre park for Laundrie’s location.
The FBI is looking for anybody who was in the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area between August 27 and August 30, according to the FBI. Anyone who has lately come into touch with the couple and any witnesses who may have seen their car should call the police.
