According to the National Weather Service Wakefield office, today’s high will reach 38°F in Richmond, with brisk northwest winds creating wind chills in the teens. Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing overnight, with lows dipping to 19°F. Forecasters say conditions will stay dry through Thursday before shifting Friday as a winter storm moves up the East Coast.

The storm is expected to bring snow starting late Friday night into Saturday, with accumulations dependent on its track and intensity. Preliminary models suggest impacts across northern and central Virginia, with snowfall potentially affecting morning commutes. Travelers are advised to monitor updates and prepare for hazardous road conditions.

Wednesday and Thursday will see highs near 30°F with continued clear skies and cold winds. Friday’s forecast includes increasing cloud cover and highs near 31°F before snow begins overnight. By Saturday, snow will likely continue, with a high of 34°F.
